Welcome to our habitat!
Warsaw Society of Biotechnology ‘Symbioza’ is a Polish NGO created in 2013 by young biotechnologists –students and alumni of the most important Warsaw universities. Since then, our goal has been to connect: students and researchers from divergent scientific fields and from different generations, biotech communities of varying geographic locations and mindsets, academia with industry, scientists with society.
We organise scientific conferences for early-career researchers, training camps developing soft skills useful in science-based activities, events for the youth biotech community as well as for the general public, and take part in numerous science-popularization activities.
WSB ‘Symbioza’ is a member of the Young European Biotech Network.

Our Projects

International Biotechnology Symposium ‘Symbioza’
Scientific symposium exploring current topics in biotechnology organised annually since 2012. It is primarily addressed at students and early-career researchers to give them an opportunity to interact with invited world-famous scientists, representatives of leading life science companies, and like-minded peers.

OAK: Attractive Conventicles Camp
Learn how to speak publicly, present (not only) scientific data and interact with your audience during a half-week-log stay in a scenic location. The OAK camp has a rich history of 30+ editions organised or co-organised by several academic institutions and NGOs throughout Poland.

Feel the Flow
A series of meetings organised throughout the year outside of the academic walls. We invite scientists, researchers, and experts to share their knowledge and personal views in a friendly, informal atmosphere in the form of a casual conversation.
