Welcome to the International Biotechnology Symposium (IBS) ‘Symbioza’ – a scientific conference exploring current topics in biotechnology and related fields, organised annually since 2012.

IBS ‘Symbioza’ is primarily addressed to early-career researchers (including students!) in biotechnology, biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, chemistry, chemical technology, chemical engineering, medicine, pharmacy and environmental studies. A wide spectrum of topics helps us achieve our goal – bringing closer people of different scientific interests and backgrounds.

We offer keynote lectures from invited top-tier scientists from all over Europe, inspiring panel discussions, presence of the representatives of leading life science companies, and a unique opportunity to network with like-minded peers.

See you in Warsaw!

Participation

‘Symbioza’ is primarily aimed at early-stage researchers in biotechnology and related fields – you are welcome to present your research in the form of either a short talk or a poster presentation. If you are a student who does not have your own scientific results – join us as a non-presenter: to learn and soak in the life science community. Finally, the Symposium can be also reached from the comfort of your home as we offer online access to all the lectures and short talks. Due to support from both academic and industrial partners we keep our participation fees constanttly low.

People behind ‘Symbioza’

Organisers

The Symposium has been organised by the members of the Warsaw Society of Biotechnology “Symbioza” annually since 2013. Acknowledging its own roots, every year the Society invites life sciences-oriented student organisations of the host city to participate in shaping the event. In making the programming decisions, the organisers are supported by the Scientific Committee composed of experienced researchers whose expertise covers a wide spectrum of biotechnology-related fields.
